Fight with a paving slab

I thought this story was worth a note, see the lump here on my Gramps' head? but a few weeks earlier he had was butted over by a goat and went head first into a paving slab... which broke under the pressue from his head.

Awesome. My gramps' head, actually tougher than concrete.

Nan's Dad - William Tonkis

William Tonkis, Kathleen Butterworth (Katie Butterworth was my Nan - died 2001).

He fought in the Boer War at age 18 and fought from 1914 - 1918 in the first world war, and for some time was a Machine gunner.
